Emma Stone knows how to make a fashion statement.
The La La Land actress donned a pussy bow at the Middleburg Film Festival in Virginia this weekend to share her support for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Stone’s stylist Mara Roszak shared a snap of the outfit on Instagram Saturday, along with the caption: “Emma and her Don’t Grab My Pussy Bow take Middleburg Film Fest #werewithher.”
The caption is, of course, a riff on comments that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made on a 2005 tape released by the Washington Post earlier this month. On the recording, Trump boasted about how he could do anything he wanted to women without their consent, including “grab them by the p—.”
Stone, who told Vogue this month that she unequivocally supports Clinton, isn’t the only prominent name sporting pussy bow blouses since the tape was publicly released. Melania Trump, who’s married to the GOP nominee, has worn a pussy bow blouse to the final two presidential debates — though it’s unlikely she and Stone share the same reasons for sporting the ironically named shirt.
