Watch 23 Adorable Pandas Make Their Public Debut

An adorable giant panda cub fell flat on its face during a presentation at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China’s Sichuan province.

Chengdu’s giant panda breeding program has seen an impressive 23 cubs born in 2016 – and the animals were being displayed as part of a celebration on Sept. 29 to show off the number of births.

But one cheeky panda attempted to make a run for it – and ended up taking an unfortunate tumble off the stage, only for a keeper to rush to the rescue.

Earlier this year, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) upgraded the status of the giant panda from endangered to vulnerable on the Red List of Threatened Species, thanks to dedicated conservation efforts.
