Tom Hiddleston’s gracious acceptance speech for his Best Actor gong in the TV Choice Awards was hijacked by his mischievous Thor co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba.
Speaking in a video message to apologize for not being there in person to collect his award due to filming commitments in Australia for Thor: Ragnarok, Hiddleston appears to be taken aback when Hemsworth grabs the silver trophy out of his hands and thanks his Home and Away fans and Australia’s Channel 7 for it.
Idris Elba then appears, calling the award “awful” and asking what it’s for. When Hiddleston explains he won it for his part in the BBC series The Night Manager, Elba wonders out loud why Luther didn’t get nominated. He then tells his British friend, “Hugh, you were amazing in The Night Manager” – jokingly referring to Hiddleston’s co-star Hugh Laurie.
Hemsworth’s genius solution is that each actor can have one of the trophy’s three stars, which Hiddleston doesn’t look too happy about.
