Teen Calls 911 Because Her Parents Made Her Go on a Family Vacation

1 minute read

A teenager phoned in an emergency call to 911 because it seems she was stuck on a family trip.

According to the CBC, the Mississauga 15-year-old called the police because her parents “forced her” to vacation with them at a rental cottage in Trent Hills, Toronto. Ontario Provincial Police visited to ensure all was well, and told CBC News, “this appeared to be a case of a teenager being a teenager.” The authorities added: “although she perceived this as a real issue, it was not an appropriate use of 911.”

Someone might think that a long-awaited trip to the countryside seems like a nice enough time, so that maybe, even if everyone wasn’t best friends forever, they could all at least admire the scenery with mutual respect. But it turns out for this teen, it was a hard no. It seems being there with relatives she did not relate to, people with whom she could never in a million years enjoy jam with, was a true crime.

By taking her on a lovely trip, they were quite possibly effectively destroying her life.
