Meanwhile in the French Riviera, Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles Lawson jumped off a yacht into the ocean as Jay Z coached her.
It was, as the businesswoman explained, “a leap of faith,” in hope that “the world in 2017 is going to be a better, safer place.” She first jumped off the second story of the luxury boat. Emboldened, she then leapt off the third story with an assist from Jay who said, “you need a count, don’t jump without a count.”
Knowles Lawson did miss vertical on both jumps, but she’s still an impressive 62-year-old woman. Other family members on vacation with Beyoncé might have just simply sat around and sunned themselves in their matching robes. Not Tina. Even though a child’s voice, possibly Blue Ivy, can be heard expressing concern for her safety in the background of this video, she was not deterred.
Thanks goodness Jay Z, lifeguard, life coach, and dutiful Instagram son-in-law was there to enforce his specific yacht jumping rule.
