Rock band Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” is a classic song played at all kinds of events: dance parties, Bar Mitzvahs, and weddings.
So it wasn’t out of the ordinary when, at a recent private Miami wedding, which the singer was attending as a guest of the bride and groom, he found himself in the awkward position of hearing his own music performed by the wedding band. So what’s a nice rock star to do? Take up the mic and sing a few lines of his most iconic song to the excited wedding guests, of course.
The whole performance is caught on camera by the Cool Coconut Studios, from Bon Jovi’s rather strained smile at the start to his ultimate decision to give the people what they want and grab the microphone. Ever a gentleman, the 54-year-old duets generously with the band’s jazz singer, Lourdes Valentin, throughout the song.
Looks like the bride and groom have one more thank you note to write: to Bon Jovi, who stepped up and made the wedding quite memorable.
