Serena Williams, a TIME 100 honoree, is the number one singles tennis player in the world, is on the brink of claiming the most Grand Slam singles titles for a female player, and she’s completely redefined the game of tennis for women around the world. Williams recently called out a reporter for referring to her as “one of the greatest female athletes of all time,” to which she replied, “I prefer the words ‘one of the greatest athletes of all time.'”
But some people would rather talk about her nipples.
Per Wimbledon dress code policy, athletes must wear all-white outfits, which leaves little to no room for imagination if windchill picks up. Twitter users around the world voiced their discontent that Williams’ nipples were visible in her Nike outfit.
Thankfully people soon came to her defense:
Rather than exhausting all attention to a part that all humans have, let’s focus on the actual game of tennis, shall we? If not, we always have her “Sorry” cameo to fall back on.
