Ahead of the movie release of David Brent: Life on the Road, Ricky Gervais has shared a parody folk-music video showing The Office character losing a lot more than his heart to a heather-selling ‘lady gypsy.’
Ricky Gervais has reprised the role of Brent 15 years after the events in the famous BBC series, later remade by NBC. In the video, Brent can be seen strumming a guitar, while wearing a red neckerchief and tight white t-shirt as he croons about a lakeside meeting with a woman near the unlikely romantic environs of Didcot, in the U.K.
The track is Brent’s first single from his new album, which ties into Gervais’ forthcoming film. In it, the former office manager Brent attempts to make a career as the frontmen of the band, Foregone Conclusion. The movie comes out on August 19.
