Dancing to Beyoncé causes soreness for anyone, so thank goodness Laverne Cox is here to keep everyone looking fresh. The Orange Is the New Black star joined Queen Latifah on The Late Late Show with James Corden last night, and Cox demonstrated “hairography.”
The point of doing “hairography,” is to whip flat hair into voluminous shape. As the SAG award winner put it, “hairography is when you might be a little tired at the Beyoncé concert because you’ve been dancing really really hard, or you’re at the club late at night and you’re just exhausted and you need a break, but you still want to look like you’re giving it. Hairography is what you do.”
Mastering the essentials of this hair boosting trick looks hard if you’re not Laverne Cox, but watch the primer above. It’s a perfect storm of eleven head rolls, hair flips, and superior neck strength.
