Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik went through a brief breakup. But now the 21-year-old model is publicly showing her support for her back-on boyfriend after Malik canceled his Saturday show at London’s Capital Summertime Ball due to anxiety.
The former One Direction singer said on Twitter the “anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me” and that “with the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career.”
In a response tweet addressed to Malik, Hadid wrote a long message supporting Malik’s decision to call off the show.
“Z—I’ve seen the battles you go through and the way you fight to get to a place that allows you to get up there for your fans,” the model wrote. “Your bravery in those times makes me proud, but your honesty last night proved what you’re all about, being real. Human recognizes human. You made the best of the situation and have given your fans an opportunity to understand you better as a performer.”
“Those who can find compassion now are the ones that deserve to watch you continue to grow,” she continued. “We are all here to support you and make each experience easier. Your talent and good heart will never lead you wrong. Love you and so proud of you always :) xG.”
After news hit that the couple had split, Hadid referred to “her boyfriend” a few days later while speaking to Elle. The couple were spotted holding hands in New York City a week later.
