In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Game of Thrones co-executive producer Bryan Cogman spoke out about Sunday night’s episode (which he wrote).
Unsurprisingly, the interviewer grilled him on the two topics that have monopolized Game of Thrones fan dialogue in the last week: the death of Hodor a week ago, and the return of Benjen Stark after five seasons Sunday night. He was predictably aloof and careful to not divulge any secrets.
On Hodor: “As for whether or not we’ll see Hodor again… As you know, I can’t comment on anything that may or may not happen in the future.”
On Benjen: “He’s… decidedly not the Benjen of season 1.”
Cogman also said that next week’s episode contains a sequence that provided his “favorite week on set in six seasons of Game of Thrones.”
