Well, this is awkward: While Donald Trump was celebrating his Indiana primary win with a victory speech, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews was caught on live television admiring potential FLOTUS Melania Trump.
“Look how she walks,” Matthews said, clearly unaware that his microphone was still live. “Did you see her walk? That’s a runway walk. My God, is that good. … I could watch that runway show.”
Brian Williams, who was covering the event, attempted to talk over Matthews before quickly cutting to a commercial break.
Variety reached out to a spokesperson for Melania, who responded:
“Melania Trump is an accomplished businesswoman and entrepreneur in her own right, achieving tremendous success in a variety of industries, including an illustrious modeling career, as well as being a dedicated wife and mother. It is unfortunate to see the continuous inaccuracies and misrepresentations made by the media of Mrs. Trump as anything less than the independently successful woman that she is.”
