On Friday, Old Navy tweeted a promotional photo of an interracial couple and their son—and the brand instantly became the target of angry feedback (some people on Twitter went as far as to claim it was promoting “white genocide”). One person who thought the outrage was ridiculous: Navy lieutenant Jack McCain, John McCain’s son, who is married to Air Force Reserve Capt. Renee Swift, a black woman. He decided to make the controversy a little more personal:
