Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan’s working relationship has seen better days, but the duo’s work on their daytime talk show Live with Kelly and Michael just won a Daytime Emmy.
Talk about weird timing.
Ripa and Strahan have been in the news due to the latter’s sudden split from the daytime show for Good Morning America. Ripa was unaware of her co-host’s departure until moments before it was announced on air. Things were tense for a while; Ripa took an extended break from the show and delivered a powerful monologue when she returned.
On Sunday, the pair won the Emmy for Best Entertainment Talk Show, but neither was present to accept the award.
