Artists, scientists, actors, sportspersons, leaders and many others doing noteworthy work in their respective fields, all gathered in New York Tuesday night for the gala to celebrate TIME’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Many current and former TIME 100 honorees attending the gala expressed gratitude and awe at the people they were rubbing shoulders with, as Jane the Virgin actress and 2016 honoree Gina Rodriguez summed up: “Yeah, I’m pinching myself.”
