Being pregnant is, of course, a miracle and a blessing. But in addition to the astoundingly amazing experience of growing a human inside of you, pregnancy also comes with a weird array of side effects — weird cravings, strange skin reactions and accumulating hair in places you didn’t think hair grew. Adele knows all about the latter, as she announced to thousands of fans at a Glasgow concert.
“When I got pregnant, I had so much testosterone in me that I grew a beard,” she said, according to The Mirror. “I only cropped it last night. It’s actually true. I’m not telling a joke. I actually have a beard, but I’m proud of it. I call it Larry.”
She has son Angelo to thank for the facial hair, which also helps her relate to boyfriend Simon Konecki on a follicular level.
“My man’s got a good beard,” she said. “He trims it sometimes in the summer. I do have a beard myself, so I can understand when it gets hot in the summer.”
We look forward to the tearjerking ballad about a gal parting with her beloved facial hair, soon to come on her next album 27.
