Zayn Malik has released a new video for “BeFoUr” off his album Mind of Mine.
The video, which was released late Thursday, features Zayn among a group of young people hanging out in front of graffiti-covered walls, throwing punches at a boxing gym, chatting at a bar and pool hall, dancing in the street, and visiting other urban locales.
In her B+ review of the album, EW critic Leah Greenblatt described “BeFoUr” as “a disco-kissed venture into light-fantastic funk.”
The track also serves as a response to his critics: “If there’s something I want/ I’ll take all the right wrongs/ Now, I’m gonna stay in my zone/ I’m tired of picking that bone,” he sings, adding in the chorus, “So say what you wanna say.”
Mind of Mine debuts Friday, one year to the day of Malik’s announcement that he was leaving One Direction. See the video above.
