Kevin Spacey surprised a crowd of Florida Panthers fans on Saturday when he emerged behind a cutout of his face during the team’s “Spacey in Space Night.”
The House of Cards star had become a Panthers phenomenon this season, inspiring the hockey team to sell blue-hooded sweatshirts with his “Spacey Facey” on them, after he was credited with their winning streak following a road trip meeting, according to Sports Illustrated. The BB&T Center erupted in cheers when the actor was revealed as the face behind the cutout of his face on the jumbotron screen during a game against the Detroit Red Wings.
However, Spacey’s presence didn’t help the Panthers and the team lost 5-3.
