A Florida woman was allegedly driving drunk Saturday when she plowed into four people at a popular spot for racing fans at the Daytona International Speedway, police said.
Abbie Kinney, 43, told officers she had drunk three beers and “shouldn’t have been driving,” according to a Daytona Beach Police Department arrest report. Authorities say she had crashed her Toyota pickup into six motor homes and vehicles before striking the people at the track’s infield shortly after 2 p.m.
Kinney faces charges of driving under the influence as well as alcohol-related injury of persons and property. She had a blood-alcohol content at more than twice the legal limit for driving, a police report said. The racetrack was set to host motorsports events over the weekend, including the Daytona Supercross by Honda, Reuters reports.
