It’s time to see Pete’s Dragon.
Disney has unveiled the first teaser for its forthcoming remake, starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford, newcomer Oakes Fegley (great name for a child actor playing a feral child) and the title dragon. Pete’s dragon only registers a brief glimpse in the whimsical teaser, which debuted Sunday, but it’s a majestic first appearance (check it out at the end of the clip below).
Directed by David Lowery (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints), this new Pete’s Dragon reimagines the 1977 children’s classic for modern times. Fegley is Pete, Howard is the park ranger who finds him living alone (or “alone”) in the forest, and Redford is her father.
Pete’s Dragon is set for release on Aug. 12.
