When the Deadpool sequel happens, James Corden wants a part.
To prove his interest, the Late Late Show host decided to audition to play Ryan Reynolds’ onscreen sidekick during Thursday’s episode of the late-night show.
With Reynolds sitting behind a desk in his office – reading EW sister publication PEOPLE, no less – Corden tried on an elaborate array of sidekick costumes: The Iceman (“The Iceman cometh all over you! He probably doesn’t say that”), Strawberry Shortfuse (“I have a really short fuse, and I’m a strawberry”), a clam (“I’m open for business”), Potato Man (“If you don’t do this, Marvel will”), Rave-y Crockett (Davy Crockett at a rave), and more. None of the choices worked, but Reynolds saved the day by coming up with a solution: Double Deadpool.
“How do you go to the bathroom in this thing?” Corden, dressed as Deadpool, asked Reynolds after the duo chased a bad guy. “Oh, you just go,” answered Reynolds. This looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
