While it is rarely a good practice to blame the boss for your own mistakes, a wise father has gone ahead and blamed The Boss for his daughter’s tardiness to school.
The Albany Times Union reports that Patrick Pipino sent his daughter to school on Tuesday with a note explaining that her tardiness was all Bruce Springsteen’s fault.
Pipino had taken his daughter, Isabelle, to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on “The River” tour during the stopover at Albany’s Times Union Center, despite the fact that it was a school night. While Pipino is a fan of Springsteen, some how he was unaware of the band’s propensity to play sets that go on way past bedtime.
Pipino sent Isabelle to school the next day with a very honest note to justify her late arrival, explaining that Springsteen played for three and a half hours and his daughter got to bed late. “This may not seem like a good excuse, but have you ever wondered how many kids would be late—or miss school outright—if God were to suddenly appear?” he wrote in the note, which he posted on his Facebook page.
Hopefully the school awards points for honesty—and good parenting.
