A 1-year-old girl was shot dead while lying in her crib in Compton, Calif. by a person firing from outside the family’s home.
The gunman exited a car, fired at the converted garage where Autumn Johnson and her family lived, and drove away, according to the L.A. Times. Autumn’s mother was heard shouting, “They shot my baby,” and her father was seen coming out of the garage and saying, “Someone take my baby to the hospital.”
Autumn had been struck in the head, and was pronounced dead at the hospital, the week after celebrating her first birthday.
