If it weren’t for Apollo Creed, Rocky Balboa’s career never would’ve made it off the ground. In 1976, Rocky was the story of an underdog who, when given the opportunity, gave his everything simply to stand toe-to-toe with the boxing champion. And once he did, his life was never the same.
Now, more than 30 years later, the Rocky-Creed story has been given a second life with the creation and success of Ryan Coogler’s Creed, which has Sylvester Stallone feeling nostalgic.
One day ahead of #throwbackthursday, Stallone took to his Instagram to share some of his favorite pictures from the film that changed his life all those years ago, and specifically, the first he got in the ring with costar Carl Weathers.
