Two burglars allegedly stole $75,000 in Magic: The Gathering trading cards from an Austin, Tex. store on Sunday, according to the card shop’s owner.
The thieves were caught on security camera breaking into Pat’s Games, which specializes in selling the popular trading cards, and making off with more than 300 of the store’s most valuable cards, the Austin American-Statesman reports.
Store owner Pat Johnson told the newspaper Austin police assigned a detective who plays Magic: The Gathering to the case. “He understands the value, and he understands what the cards look like,” she said. “I can’t tell you how helpful that is.”
