Buffalo, New York, set a new kind of snow record in December, when it was reported that there was no measurable snowfall as of December 7. But now, here’s a photo of a car frozen solid on Monday as lake effect snow blanketed the area.
Matthew Bové, a reporter for the ABC News affiliate WKBW, showed off images and video of the four-wheeled icicle on Route 5 — a product of strong winds, freezing temperatures, and flooding from Lake Erie. The white stuff fell about about three inches per hour at its heaviest level, according to one Buffalo News weather report.
It is so cold and icy there, in fact, you could play hockey on the pavement, one newscaster joked:
