Lawyers for Bill and Camille Cosby asked a judge on Monday to delay the date when the comedian’s wife is scheduled to give a deposition in a defamation lawsuit against her husband.
The lawyers had previously tried to argue that the sworn interview, which is scheduled for Wednesday, presented an “undue burden” for Mrs. Cosby. That argument was denied on Dec. 31, but the lawyers believe the deposition should be delayed while they appeal that decision, Reuters reports.
The defamation lawsuit was brought by seven women who say they were sexually assaulted by Cosby, whom he called liars for bringing the accusations. On Dec. 30, Cosby was charged with sexually assaulting a woman in 2004. He is now free on $1 million bail.
