Honest Tea Will Remove Donald Trump Quote From Bottles

Honest Tea says it is phasing out the inspirational Donald Trump quotes that appear on some of its bottle caps.

Seth Goldman, co-founder of Honest Tea, told NBC that the company had already been in the process of removing the quote and it was not because the brand was taking a stance on Trump’s presidential candidacy. He said that the quotes are changed out or refreshed about every 18 months, and that the company had been advised back in 2011 to focus on quotes from people who have already died, because there is less risk of offense.

The company responded to Shapiro’s tweet the same day:

“There’s nothing objectionable to the thought,” Goldman told NBC of the Trump quote on the cap.
