Steve Harvey’s infamous erroneous crowning of Miss Universe 2015 can be cringe-inducing to watch, but just the right type of music can transform it from embarrassing to embarrassingly hilarious.
Jake Rasmussen uploaded a parody of the moment Harvey names Miss Colombia as Miss Universe, only to have to admit to his mistake on the telecast. In the above clip, Harvey announces his mistake as the Curb Your Enthusiasm music starts up and the Miss Universe host stares into the crowd considering what he’s about to say. It’s as perfectly mortifying a moment as any Larry David has gone through on the HBO show, and though the video may leave you hoping for Curb Your Enthusiasm’s return once again, it’s well worth a watch.
Ariadna Guiterrez wrote a message online reacting to accidentally being named Miss Universe, which Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, actually won. The telecast was also down in its ratings compared to the previous year’s pageant.
