A 12-year old suspect in Florida was arrested on Monday for allegedly stealing an elderly man’s car.
The boy from St. Petersburg, Fla., whose name cannot be revealed because of his age, has already been arrested more than 20 times in his brief lifetime, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
The youngster was reportedly seen on surveillance footage talking to the elderly man, Raymond Raftery, at a gas station before allegedly jumping into his car and speeding off. The 89-year-old said the young suspect told him one of his tires was low on air, and seized the opportunity when the vehicle owner got out to check.
“He was good,” Raftery told the Times. “I felt kind of dumb afterward, but it was broad daylight, and he was a kid.”
