Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s unfiltered home movies made the rounds on social media Wednesday.
The Republican presidential candidate posted hours of b-roll of his family online to allow his super PACs to use the footage in their own commercials. (You may recall Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell doing something similar last year, leading Jon Stewart to coin the term “McConnelling.”)
The footage has been online since July and was noted in a story on BuzzFeed after it went up, but it resurfaced in a CNN report Wednesday, causing it to make the rounds on Twitter and Facebook.
As a sitting Senator, Cruz has never been able to work in concert with his super PAC, in contrast with Jeb Bush and John Kasich, who each filmed hours of footage for their groups before they became official candidates.
