A Texas woman has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a woman who died after receiving an illegal butt injection.
Nitica Deonte Lee was charged Tuesday with first-degree involuntary manslaughter in St. Louis County, Mo., after prosecutors said she injected 22-year-old Daysha Phillips’ butt with a silicone substance in July.
Phillips was taken to the hospital when she reported having trouble breathing and died four days after the procedure. The Associated Press reports that she died of a silicone pulmonary embolism “which generally is a block clot that makes its way to the lungs and blocks a blood vessel.”
Lee’s bond was set at $200,000. She could face up to seven years in prison if convicted. Information about her attorney was not immediately available.
