In the latest version, the character Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, takes center stage, telling BB-8 (seen much more here than in earlier trailers) that she’s waiting for her family, and very nearly getting cut down by Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. Also new: a shot of a good old fashioned Chewbacca roar, and a Kylo Ren quote, “We will fulfill our destiny,” that apparently precedes the one we’ve heard in previous versions: “I will finish what you started.” What could this “we” mean? Who is Rey’s family? And who will survive the new intrigue?
