Nicole Kidman is in talks to play a “high-ranking Amazonian warrior” in the upcoming Wonder Woman film, according to the Wrap.
Though the Wonder Woman character will be introduced in the upcoming film Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice, the superhero’s solo-debut will hit theaters in 2017. Gal Gadot is slated to star as Wonder Woman and actor Chris Pine will join the cast as Wonder Woman’s love interest.
Kidman’s role has yet to be confirmed, but there’s a high likelihood she’d be cast as Hyppolyta, the Queen of the Amazons, who also happens to be Wonder Woman’s mother. The role would be a good fit for the nearly 6-foot-tall actress.
The Oscar winning actress has a full plate already, having just wrapped up the family friendly movie Paddington and preparing for the Nov. 20 release of the thriller The Secret in Their Eyes. Kidman will also star in the upcoming thriller The Silent Wife and is slated to produce an HBO miniseries Big Little Lies.
