There’s no greater endorsement of a pop star’s dance moves like getting hand-picked by Janet Jackson to perform at a BET Awards tribute to the “Rhythm Nation” icon. That’s what happened to Tinashe, whose club-banger “2 On” was one of the best songs of 2014 and whose Kanye-approved video for “All Hands on Deck” is one of this year’s most eye-catching. So it makes sense that the singer, who’s finishing up her upcoming sophomore album Joyride, would showcase those moves in the video for her new single “Player.” The just-released clip takes the title a bit literally by dropping Tinashe into a good ol’ fashioned dance battle, but once featured guest Chris Brown shows up to take part in some sexed-up choreography, you’ll have lost track of the score.
