New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has endorsed Hillary Clinton for President.
The liberal Democrat’s endorsement comes some six months after he declined to throw his weight behind the candidate in a Meet the Press appearance. But on Friday on Morning Joe, he said, “The candidate who I believe can fundamentally address income inequality effectively, the candidate who has the right vision, the right experience and the ability to get the job done, is Hillary Clinton.”
While Clinton herself did not issue a statement about the mayor, her campaign commented to the New York Times that the endorsement was “a sign of the campaign’s continued momentum” and that 85 more mayors from around the country would endorse her today.
