Hopper—who was once [profiled](http://content.time.com/time/subscriber/article/0,33009,887461,00.html) on the [cover](http://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1968770%5F1968778%5F1969037,00.html) of TIME—ruffled feathers with her famous gossip columns and notoriously named names during the blacklisting era.
