Last week, we got the long-awaited news that there was a Gilmore Girls revival in the works. However, the announcement that the limited-series reboot would be structured as four 90-minute episodes had some fans scratching their heads.
Now, the idea behind the mini-movie format has been clarified, according to TV Line. The narrative will follow a seasonal structure, with each episode representing one season over the course of a calendar year.
Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is returning to write and direct all four episodes of the Netflix and Warner Bros. collaboration, which will be set in the present day, a.k.a around eight years after the show ended. The show’s primary cast — Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson — are all said to be in negotiations to return.
We can only hope that four seasons will be enough time to answer all the burning questions we still have about the world of Stars Hollow.
