Attendees at New York Comic-Con this weekend got a glimpse of two forthcoming Marvel shows, both on Netflix: new series Jessica Jones and the second season of Daredevil. For those not in attendance, the latter show’s teaser surfaced on Monday, and while the majority of the footage is cobbled from the first season, the final 30 seconds hint at what’s to come when the show returns in 2016.
The teaser finds Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock at church, seeking Father Lantom’s advice on how to confront feelings of guilt. “Guilt can be a good thing,” Lantom reassures him. “It’s the soul’s call to action.” The footage also introduces two new characters—well, new to the show but mainstays in the Marvel universe—ninja assassin Elektra (Elodie Yung) and troubled antihero Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher (Jon Bernthal).
When the teaser premiered at Comic-Con Saturday night, Variety reports, showrunner Marco Ramirez told the audience, “you wanted grounded, you wanted dark, here’s Elektra, here’s Punisher.”
