Jon Voight, Gemma Chan and Carmen Ejogo will join the cast the new Harry Potter film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Fantastic Beasts is a spin-off of the popular franchise following the wizarding world’s top researcher of magical creatures, Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne. The film is set 70 years before the events of Harry Potter.
The film is already shooting in England, following a script written by J.K. Rowling herself.
Voight, the father of Angelina Jolie and a veteran actor, currently appears in Showtime’s Ray Donovan. He won the Academy Award for best actor in 1978 for his role in Coming Home.
Ejogo played Coretta Scott King in Selma and Chan has worked primarily in television. They will join the confirmed cast of Katherine Waterson, Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell, Dan Fogler and Samantha Morton.
