Nicole Richie recounted her meanest April Fool’s joke on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night, where she had a friend tell her dad, Lionel Richie, that she had been arrested.
“I had a guy friend of mine wake him from a dead sleep at around 3:30 or 4 in the morning and say they are from Nevada police and that I had been arrested,” said Richie.
The uncensored version of the story was revealed a few years back to Andy Cohen. According to the former The Simple Life star, it happened right after she left rehab, involved a security guard and the reason for her (fake) arrest was cocaine possession.
This shouldn’t have come as that big of surprise to those who know Richie well, as she is no stranger to pranks. Perennial targets have included both Kim and Khloe Kardashian, who’ve had their Twitter accounts hacked by Richie two years in a row.
