Omar Sharif starred in some of the most iconic films in Hollywood history, from epics like Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago to the musical comedy Funny Girl. His peers in the acting community took to social media on Friday to mourn the star’s death at age 83:
Sad to hear about #OmarSharif. I grew up on Lawrence and Zhivago. A legacy with not one but multiple timeless classics.
Sharif won Golden Globes for his performances in Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago. He died on Friday of a heart attack in Cairo.
