Amy Schumer is certainly not shy when it comes to sex—but how does her mother feel about her often-racy comedy?
Surprisingly, she’s not shocked.
Schumer’s mother, Sandy Schumer, admitted that her famous daughter’s sometimes x-rated bits don’t offend her during a segment with CBS News’s Sunday Morning.
“I will tell you honestly, no,” she told Mo Rocca when he asked if she’s uncomfortable with the 34-year-old’s humor. “I’m never embarrassed.”
During the segment, Schumer and Rocca also visited her alma mater, South Side High School on Long Island, New York. The Trainwreck star surprised a drama class, and even dished out some life advice.
“This is such a time in your lives when all these insecurities creep in and you’re looking in the mirror like, ‘I don’t look like all the Kardashians,’ ” she told students. “And you think that that’s wrong. But it’s not. You should just totally look in the mirror and just love yourself, and be like, ‘This is the package I come in, and I’m just going to embrace it.’ ”
Despite her mom’s glowing approval, she also advised the high schoolers against trying to please their parents.
“And don’t try and make your parents proud, because it’s impossible,” she said. “They don’t understand!”
