Robyn has been teasing new music since road-testing material with Röyksopp last summer; now, we finally get to hear it.
In August, Robyn told TIME that she and bandmate Markus Jägerstedt were completing an EP of music they made with Christian Falk, the late Swedish producer whom Robyn has worked with since she was a kid. This past May, she announced a formal name for the project—La Bagatelle Magique— along with a few festival dates and a short snippet of a song called “Love Is Free,” one of the tracks she unveiled on tour Röyksopp in support of their joint EP.
Robyn visited BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac for an interview that aired Thursday, and she also premiered the full studio version of “Love Is Free,” which she says is from another “mini-album” coming “really soon” this summer. It’s a euphoric, house-influenced club-banger that also features contributions from New York rapper Maluca, who opened for Robyn on a stretch of her Body Talk tour and performed the track with her last summer.
