Lady Gaga helped get the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, off to a great start by performing a gorgeous, operatic rendition of Jon Lennon’s 1971 song “Imagine.”
The ARTPOP singer managed to bring the massive crowd to a calm hush from her perch behind a flower-adorned piano. She starts off staying true to the original, singing soft and low, before moving into a powerful, bellowing climax.
“What an honor to have a few moments with the world watching,” Gaga tweeted. “Could you imagine. What would you say?”
