Disney is working its magic to create a Maleficent sequel, with screenwriter Linda Woolverton in talks to return to pen the screenplay.
Sources have confirmed The Wrap’s report that Woolverton would be writing the script, with the hopes that Angelina Jolie would return for the live-action fairytale sequel—though Jolie does not currently have a deal with the project.
Joe Roth will be returning to produce; however, Robert Stromberg is not expected to return as director.
Maleficent grossed $760 million worldwide.
