Charlie Brown, Snoopy and their ragtag gang of line-drawn friends will get the 3D animation treatment this fall with The Peanuts Movie, which commemorates the 65th anniversary of its namesake comic strip. The brainchildren of cartoonist Charles M. Schulz return with an original script penned by Schulz’s son Craig Schulz, grandson Bryan Schulz and co-writer Cornelius Uliano.
The Peanuts Movie centers on two quests undertaken, respectively, by its two protagonists. In one storyline, Charlie Brown attempts to win the affection of a new girl in town, the Little Red-Haired Girl. In another, his loyal beagle Snoopy takes on his longtime nemesis, the Red Baron.
The Peanuts Movie is set for theatrical release on Nov. 6.
