HBO released a first look at Kerry Washington as Anita Hill, the woman who accused Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment, in the upcoming film “Confirmation.”
Hill testified at Thomas’ 1991 Senate confirmation hearing, where she divulged that she had accused him of sexual harassment years before while working as his assistant at the U.S. Department of Education. Thomas was confirmed and still serves on the court today.
The film, which does not yet have a release date, also stars The Wire star Wendell Pierce as Clarence Thomas and Avengers star Cobie Smulders as lawyer Harriet Grant. Rick Famuyiwa, director of Dope, which is released on Friday, is directing.
