Ceres, the dwarf planet and largest object in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, can now be seen in fascinating detail, thanks to images from NASA’s Dawn spacecraft.
The flyover video was captured at an altitude of 8,400 miles during the spacecraft’s first mapping orbit last month. This particular video shows Ceres rotating for one full Cerean day, approximately nine hours.
