The Broadway Casts of Lion King and Aladdin Had a Glorious Sing-Off

1 minute read

At airports, it is typical to see spontaneous outbursts of anger and frustration, so it is refreshing to see a spontaneous outburst of singing and applause at the gate instead.

The casts of The Lion King and Aladdin appear to have staged an a cappella sing-off at LaGuardia Airport Sunday night when storms delayed numerous flights. Watch for the freestyle rap by James Inglehart, who won a 2014 Tony Award for his role as the Genie in Aladdin.

It is not the first time these Broadway actors have burst into song while traveling. The Lion King cast members also regaled subway riders with “The Circle of Life” in August 2014 and staged a flash mob at the Australian Open’s players café this year.
